Privacy Policy

Effective October 11, 2026

ZIVO Sports ("ZIVO," "we," "us") operates the ZIVO Sports website, the ZIVO Sports iOS and Android apps, and the ZIVO Sports MCP server for AI assistants (together, the "Service"), which help you find where a game is airing. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we store your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

Session information. Signing in creates a session record, which includes the IP address and browser/device user agent used to sign in, so we can keep you signed in and detect unusual activity.

Personalization. Games and teams you favorite or follow, reminder settings, your streaming-service preferences, your spoiler-mode setting, and an optional country override (used to tailor "where to watch" results to your region) are all stored against your account. If you use the calendar feed, we also store the private token in its address.

Watch links you open. When you're signed in and open a live or replay link from ZIVO, we store which game it was, whether it was a live or replay link, the game's two teams, and when you opened it. We use this only to show you the "Games ZIVO got you to" count on your profile, and it's deleted with your account. We don't store links you open while signed out. We only record that you opened the link; we never learn whether or what you watched.

Notification delivery data. If you enable notifications, we store either a browser Web Push subscription or a device push token (delivered to us by Apple's APNs or Google's FCM), tied to your account, solely so we can deliver the game reminders you asked for.

Reports you send. If you report a mistake on a game, we store the game, what you reported, your optional note and market, and either your account or, if you're signed out, a keyed hash of your IP address or a random ID in a cookie, so we can limit repeat reports.

AI assistant connections. If you connect ZIVO to an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, we store the assistant's client registration, the permissions you approved, and the access tokens we issued to it. Each time the assistant calls one of ZIVO's tools, we receive the inputs it sends for that tool, such as a team search, a game, your time zone, or your country. We don't receive the rest of your conversation with the assistant.

We do not collect payment information — the Service is free and has no purchases.

Analytics

The website uses PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how the Service is used and to find errors. PostHog receives the pages you view, the buttons and links you use, searches and filters you apply, and errors your browser hits, along with your IP address and browser details, which PostHog may use to estimate your approximate location. One-time codes and tokens in page addresses are removed before anything is sent. When you're signed in, these events are linked to your account, including your name, email address, and role, and a summary of your settings: your country, spoiler mode, and how many teams and services you've saved.

On a small random sample of page loads (about one in ten) of game, watch, and blackout pages, PostHog also records a session replay of how the page was used. Text typed into form fields is masked in replays.

Calls from AI assistants to ZIVO's MCP server are logged to PostHog too: which tool was called, its inputs and the result ZIVO returned, how long it took, whether it failed, and the name and version of the assistant's app. When you've connected your account, these calls can be linked to your account ID.

The website also uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies. The iOS and Android apps don't include an analytics SDK, but some actions they send to ZIVO's servers, such as signing in, changing a preference, or sending a report, are logged to PostHog the same way, linked to your account when you're signed in.

Cookies and local storage

We use a cookie to keep you signed in. The website also stores your theme choice, and PostHog stores a random identifier in a cookie and in your browser's local storage so it can tell visits apart. If you send a report while signed out, we may set a cookie holding a random ID, as described above. We don't use advertising cookies.

How we use your information

We use the information above to operate your account and session, personalize the catalog and "where to watch" results you see, and send the game reminders and in-app notifications you've opted into. We use analytics to understand how the Service is used, find and fix problems, and decide what to improve. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build behavioral profiles for any purpose beyond running and improving the Service.

How we share your information

We share information only where it's necessary to run the Service:

  • Infrastructure providers that host our website, database, and backend functions.
  • PostHog and Vercel, for the analytics described above.
  • Resend, which delivers password-reset emails and receives your email address.
  • The AI assistant you connect ZIVO to, which receives the results of the tools it calls, including your saved preferences if you allowed that. What the assistant does with them is governed by its provider's privacy policy.
  • Apple (APNs) and Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging), solely as the delivery pipes for push notifications you've enabled — they receive a device token, not your account details.

We also query public sports-data sources (such as MLB's Stats API and TheSportsDB) to build schedules and broadcast predictions; these lookups do not include any of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your account and personalization data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Profile › Account, on the website or in the app. Deleting it immediately and permanently removes your account, sign-in sessions, saved games and reminders, streaming services, followed teams, sports and leagues, notification history and settings, push notification registrations, calendar feed link, the watch links you opened, and any AI assistant connections. Reports you sent are kept without any link to you. We also ask PostHog to delete the analytics it holds about your account. Routine database backups may hold a copy for a limited time until they expire.

If you can't sign in, email us at privacy@zivosports.tv from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.

Your choices

You can update your favorited games, followed teams, streaming services, spoiler mode, and country preference, or turn notifications on or off, at any time from your Profile in the app. Signing out ends your session immediately. You can disconnect ZIVO from an AI assistant at any time in that assistant's connector settings.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.

Security

Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing, and traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. On the ZIVO Sports apps, your session is stored using your device's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, encrypted storage on Android).

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
